1,500 mortgage deals launched

In August UK lenders launched more than 1,500 mortgage deals.

The research carried out by Mortgage Brain has revealed that this turned out to be the biggest monthly increase over the period of twenty months.

According to the figures provided by the adviser sourcing system, there was a 25 per cent increase in the number of mortgage schemes available in one month, from 6,081 in the beginning of August to 7,618 in the end of the month.

The substantial increase in the selection of mortgage products this August is striking in comparison with the 0.2 per cent rise registered in August 2009 contributing not much to a product total of 2,505.

Since that time more than 5,000 new mortgage deals have been launched, constituting as much as a 204 per cent jump.



The cultural transformations that have made people accept life in debt have had a direct impact on the approach youngsters take to money matters, which could lead to negative consequences in the long run as many of the next generation would resort to IVAs to cope with serious financial issues.
