WANO completes its first pre-operational peer reviews

 
WANO conducted its first pre-operational peer reviews at Khmelnitski-2 and Rovno-4 NPPs in Ukraine between 4 and 18 April 2004.

The peer reviews were conducted by the WANO Moscow Centre and used WANO’s Performance Objectives and Criteria that had been revised to incorporate aspects of a nuclear power plant nearing the beginning of operation.

Pre-operational peer reviews are an addition to the existing successful WANO programme of conducting peer reviews at operating nuclear power plants. Since 1992 WANO has completed over 220 peer reviews worldwide.
