New Managing Director for WANO

 
The World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) announced today that Mr Lucas (Luc) Mampaey, Site Manager of the Doel Nuclear Power Station in Belgium, will succeed Mr Sigval Berg as managing director of WANO at the completion of Mr. Berg’s two year appointment. Mr. Mampaey will join WANO on 1 October 2004 and will assume his new role near the end of the year. Mampaey will be located at the organisation’s Coordinating Centre in London.
 
 Mampaey has been with Electrabel, the Belgian utility since 1989, and with Tractebel (architect engineer of all Belgian nuclear plants) from 1973-1989.
